Puppy Love

We've finally picked out our puppy and in one short week we'll be bringing her home. We ended up compromising on a black/white female. Gary wanted a black/white male and I wanted a liver/white female. Go figure.
We each got half of what we wanted........oh, and I also get to pick the name! :)

On our way home from up north on Sunday, we stopped at the May's house for a visit and ended up bringing her home for an hour. She had a grand old time investigating in the back yard, but then she needed a nap in her new bed.

I think she really likes her new bed!

I also snapped a cute picture of all Emmie's brothers and sisters as they slept. There are 4 liver/white and 4 black/white pups.

A quick trip north

The weather was predicted to be wonderful for the weekend, so after 5 days of rain Gary and I decided to take advantage of the sunshine and headed north to the lake. Nothing is better then sitting in the boat with the sun shining down and reading a good book. The weekend couldn't have turned out better. We are definitely looking forward to going back up for Gary's birthday and the 4th of July!!!

Softball filled weekend

Gary had a softball tournament most of the weekend, so we spent a great deal of time at the ball park. In between the games I also recruited mom to help me finish the flower bed in the back yard. Until now, it has been plain dirt which has caused a lot of weeds to spout. I really hate to weed, so we decided to mulch over the top of the bed with cedar chips. Now not only does it prevents weeds, but it also looks and smells nice! Yay, to no more weeding. Thanks mom!

Sunday we also visited our new pup, who we've decided to name Emerald or Emmie for short. Since all of my pets up to this point in my life have been named in alphabetical order, I had to continue the tradition with an "E" name. By the way, there are not very many good ones out there.

"A" - Andy    "B" - Bailey   "C" - Callie   "D" - Deena   "E" - Emmie

Two more weeks until we get to bring Emmie home. That also happens to be Gary's birthday, what a nice present! :)

Good times with old friends

This weekend was jam packed full of summer fun. Friday I was able to get together with my old college roommates (Lindsay and Katrina) for dinner and  a few drinks at Los Banditos. Yumm. Lindsay was in town for the Kenny Chesney concert at Lambeau Field on Saturday, so it was so nice to see her again. The last time was at our wedding, over a year ago already!!

Saturday, Gary and I worked outside on the driveway. We are planning to pour another stall for parking alongside the existing garage. I am looking forward to this project being done; it seems to be one of those on-going things that never ends!
We also celebrated a friends's birthday with a bonfire and yard games in the evening. It was so nice to sit outside and enjoy the cooler air with a toasty fire. I LOVE bonfires.

Sunday was another busy day. Angie's wedding shower was a big success! It turned out to be a georgous day and we enjoyed lots of good food and good company. Her and Kyle got a lot of nice gifts to help them start their new life together, I cannot wait until the wedding!! :)

Floral Wedding Gown

I don't know if it's just because it seems everyone I know is getting married, but I swear everywhere turn there are bigger and better wedding gowns/flowers/cakes out there. It's as if each person needs to top the previous wedding.  Check out this gown I found!   Ang, I think you should find something like this for your big day!!! ;)

Wedding season is here!

We had our first wedding of the season last weekend and you know what that means....summer is here! Everyone wants to get married when it's warm out, and this year is no exception. We have been invited to six weddings so far and I know of another one or two that we didn't get in the mail yet!

The first wedding of the year was fantastic. It was an out door ceremony at Pamprin Park, followed by an indoor reception at The Tundra Lodge. The sun was shining and the weather was perfect. Overall we had an awesome time at Gina and Gary's wedding!  Congrats to the newlyweds!!
