Memorial Day Weekend

What a great way to kick off summer. Gary and I were busy as ever, but had a wonderful time enjoying the long weekend and mini vacation from work.
Gary was in a weekend long softball tournament in Oconto Falls. So between that and our never ending yard projects, the weekend flew.

Among our many projects, this weekend we worked on our second flower bed. We pushed around the dirt and formed the shape so we can start building the rock border. The first bed was a ton of work, so I wasn't looking forward to starting this one so soon, but I'm glad we have the general shape of it done. I don't think we'll be planting it anytime soon, if at all this year. We also planted 3 cedar trees to hide the fire hydrant in the north corner. I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out!

Sunday night we also enjoyed our first bon-fire of the season! There is just something awesome about sitting outside and watching the wood crackle. I can't wait for more warm days to come!

Happy Memorial Day!!!!

A picture of our GIANT tulips! Thanks to Mom and Grandma for helping me plant these last fall!

Happy Anniversary!

Yesterday was our one year anniversary. The weather wasn't very nice, but we wanted to do something special so we took a drive to Door County. We had lunch at Shipwrecked in Egg Harbor and then made our way to Fish Creek for a little sight seeing and shopping. There was a cute little oil shop there where you could sample and bottle your own cooking oils and salad vinaigrette. After taking in the sights, we stopped at a vineyard on the way home. Since it was sprinkling, we stayed inside, but had a great time tasting different wines and sampling the treats they offer.  We ended up buying the most awesome blackberry wine. Yum!

Finally a nice day!

The sun is shining and all is wonderful here. In exactly one day, Gary and I will be married one year. I cannot believe the time has gone so fast. We've done so much in the last year, the time has passed too quickly.
Happy one year hun, love you!! xoxo

The In-Laws

Dinner and bowling with my my in-laws was a blast. It's a rare occasion that we are all able to get together, but when we do, we have a ton of fun. We started off with a surf and turf buffet at Rivers Bend followed by a rowdy game of bowling at Pro Bowl, and of course some intense competition.

The whole group!

Jen, Angela, Chris, Gary, and Amy
