Christmas Day 2014

Christmas morning and Santa brought the much anticipated fire truck!!

Man, she's been talking about this truck for a month.

After church we headed off to Gary's parents house. 

And later in the day we spent time with the Mastey side. 

After many years of not exchanging gifts due to the increasing size of the family, we decided to have a scarf exchange between the ladies.  OMG, You never really know how rowdy your family is until you throw some competition into the mix. We threw a bracket together and added some holiday games and watched things get wild.  At one point I believe there was a marshmallow snowball fight.

And for the grand prize......Blowing the ornament across the room into a designated box. 

Congrats to Aunt Mary.  She had the most hot air!!

That day when your kid tells you you look like a mermaid

That was tonight.
Our bedtime ritual is as such.  Eat a snack. Get pjs on. Brush teeth. Pick out clothes for tomorrow. Read book. Bed.

I should preface this story by first saying that yesterday I had an incident with my robe and the toilet and well, I won't go into much detail, but it ended up in the wash machine. So tonight, over my jammies I had a different cream silky robe that I have not used in a long time.

Tonight after racing Mya to get our jammies on (I won by the way) we met in the bathroom. I was already brushing my teeth and as she opened the drawer and got her toothbrush out she stopped to look at me. "OOh mom, I like your new jammies.  They're nice.  You look like a mermaid."  **blank stare**

And as I laughed I looked in the mirror and realized that there are a lot worse things to look like, then a mermaid.

We're lucky to have a local business that hosts such a nice event.

Not only friends, but family

We haven't seen these guys in forever! Spent the weekend reminiscing of the old days. The little house, summer vacations, and old hunting trips. Looking forward to another visit soon!

It was great to see Lindsay again! College roomies = friends for life.

We tried something new and ventured out to Palette and Pub for some painting fun. 

Rounded out the weekend with the Packer game.  Mya had a ball.
