WHERE is spring???

So, it's official. We've had the longest, coldest winter on record. Ever.  EVER.  We've broken all kinds of records and the weather channel can't stop talking about it. Everywhere you go, people are mumbling and grumbling about the cold.  I on the other hand haven't really been bothered to much by it besides the obvious annoyances.  Putting on 12 1/2 layers of clothes to go get the mail and  having a toddler cooped up for week after week.  But finally it hit me. I finally realized I'm sick and tired of this weather!


You know when you're in the bedroom folding clothes and you overhear the conversation being had by your husband and toddler in the kitchen?
The one where she says, "Aposos. Daddy, aposos." 
And he says, "What?" and she repeats, "Aposos, more aposos."
Again, "What?" 
"Daaaaaaaaaaaad appppooosoooos. APOSOS!!!" (clearly frustrated)
"Mya, I have no idea what you're saying."
She begins to cry.


And then out of nowhere, I yell from across the house, "FOR GOODNESS SAKE, SHE WANTS MORE APPLE SAUCE."


That is the exact moment I realized I've had enough winter. We've been cooped up for too long. We need a vacation. Or Spring.  I'll take either.

Following orders.

This morning Mya was standing on the couch looking for the garbage truck. As I passed through the kitchen on my way to the bathroom I reminded her that she needed to sit down on the couch. 

When I came back this is what I found....

I guess I can't argue with her, she did sit down. :)

Sweet Saturday

Another freezing cold day. We can't wait until this latest cold snap is over. We cleaned house and played all day. Now were snuggling downstairs watching some bball and doing a little artwork. 

Mya surprised me tonight. While we were coloring I started writing letters on the page. She identified the "B" "D" and "M" and was able to tell me "B" for Becca, "D" for Daddy and "M" for Mya and Momma without me prompting. Our little girl is getting so big!!

Cozy Friday night

We were snuggling together in the basement by the fire. 

But she ditched me pretty quickly when Gary got out an ice cream bar. 

My baby's first battle wound

Mom's clean floor, plus socks, plus running full speed down the hallway, equals her first fat lip. :(

Finally some sunshine.

It's still pretty chilly but at least we were able to get outside to shovel and go for a sled ride.

February snow storm

Mya helped me shovel the driveway when we got home from work today.  She wouldn't keep her gloves on though, so we didn't last long outside.

Each day when we get home we walk out to the mailbox and Mya gets the mail out. She was so excited to get mail yesterday that she wouldn't even take off her jacket before opening it.
